How Does North East Vastu Direction Affect Us

Sometimes, we feel that we have got some insight into a complex issue. What is the meaning of insight? Insight means a deep understanding of something or someone. North East is the zone that is responsible for insights. In addition, this zone is also responsible for foresight, vision, intuition, inspiration, meditation and wisdom. This zone also controls mental clarity and new ideas. According to Vastu shastra, the North-East zone is an ideal place for making a temple or place for worship. The placement of ishta devta in this zone makes it easy to establish a connection with supreme power.

In fact, ancient Vastu scripts state that deities live in this zone but it does not mean that this is the only right zone for worship. When you visit old palaces, you will find that room for worship is placed in the West zone with the deity facing the East direction. In reality, North East is an ideal place for meditation because it is easy to connect with the deity in this zone.

Vastu shastra suggests different directions for the placement of different deities. Here, it is relevant to mention that many times, people use red colour in the temple in several forms. It creates negative effects in the case of the North East temple because North East is the zone of the water element and the red colour represents the fire element which results in anxiety and tensions in the life of residents. It also negatively affects your mental clarity and thought process. The key point to understand here is that like a Vastu zone has its attributes, every object in our house and every activity we perform in our house, has specific attributes. By placing an object in a particular Vastu zone or by performing an activity in that zone, we are giving Instructions to space to produce a particular effect.

Later, in this series, when we talk about the South-South West Vastu zone, we will learn that it is used for disposing of whatever is waste in life. So, if you find that someone is not able to meditate and is very much confused, then he might have made a puja room in South-South West. Now, you can easily understand that why it is important to make a prayer room in North East, because then only you will be able to enjoy the heights of meditation and connect with yourself easily. As far as Vastu defects are concerned, a toilet in the North-East zone is a major Vastu defect and leads to cancer. The only solution to this problem is to relocate the toilet to any other permitted zone.

North East is a very important direction in Vastu. Therefore, there are many myths that prevail in the minds of people regarding this direction.

First of all, people believe that a house with a North East entrance is auspicious. However, here we need to understand the difference between the Vastu zone and the Vastu entrance. According to Vishwakarma Prakash, we divide 360 degrees from the centre of the building into sixteen parts which are called Vastu zones and every Vastu zone gets 22.5 degrees. Similarly, when we consider entrances, we divide 360 degrees into 32 parts which are called 32 Vastu entrances and every entrance is allotted 11.25 degrees.

So, you can see here that every Vastu zone has two entrances and North East is no exception to this rule. Out of these two entrances, the entrance in the left part of North East is very good for the residents as it gives higher bank balance. However, if we open a door in the right part of this zone, it results in unexpected losses and fire-related accidents. So, when you plan to open an entrance in the North-East zone make sure that it is opened in the left part of the zone. By doing so you not only avoid sudden losses but it gives you a lot of money also.

Next, only North-East facing houses are supposed to be good for occupants. This again is a misconception because according to Vastu scripts every direction has some good and some bad attributes. You can observe that a lot of people who do not live in North East facing house but they are enjoying a healthy, wealthy and peaceful life. On the contrary, you may find people facing a lot of problems in their life in spite of living in a North-East facing house.

In several countries where people are experiencing amazing growth, most of the plots are either South facing or West facing. North-East facing plots are not very common in those countries which indicates that this is a wrong belief. In fact, out of eight possible entrances in every direction, the third and fourth entrance is considered good for occupants. So, it is not the facing of the house which is important but it is the location of the entrance which plays an important role in this regard.

Here, water element gets converted into air element and earth element is also required for this conversion to take place.
